In the past 6 months, we at yondr have been hard at work at integrating VR into businesses in a more value-driven and sustainable way. VR is definitely exiting its fledgling technology stage, going beyond the gimmick into stronger territory. We’d like to take a moment to talk about the future and the four most poignant evolutions on the 2017 VR roadmap.

1. Employer branding

A pioneer when it comes to value-driven VR applications, employer branding will remain a solid domain for VR ventures. Millennials are no longer swayed by big checks and fancy cars: they want to work for companies that share their values. And what better way to show job applicants what you’re all about than a tantalizing VR presentation or even a ‘day in the life of’, as seen through a pair of VR goggles?

2. Safety Training

VR makes your safety training more engaging, time-efficient, visually accurate and less expensive. What’s not to love? High-risk safety exercises suddenly become attainable as well as cost-effective, not to mention repeatable. Highly skilled professionals can now practice risky procedures over and over again until they’re sure they’ll succeed. Added bonus: VR training proves to be a lot more memorable than traditional training.

3. Sales

Sales execs can turn their presentations into full-blown experiences with a little help from VR. Think of large industrial players, for example. Rather than having to spend their efforts trying to convince leads to visit the factory, sales representatives can entice their prospects with a VR factory experience, right from the prospect’s office chair. It’s an exciting new experience for the prospect that significantly speeds up the sales process.

4. Explainer medium

Explainer videos are all the rage. These short animations are a great way to make your message clear and simple. But why not take it a step further? A VR experience is ten times more powerful and more compelling to boot. The extra dimension allows you to highlight certain aspects of your demonstration and to offer a more flexible experience in general.
